Dragonheart Rough Pass

This is a very rough early version of the Dragonheart storyboard. I like to do a rough version like this to get a feeling of my compositions, camera angles and shot progression. If I cut back to a previous angle I sometimes reuse the previous panel, which explains why there are some duplicates in this sequence.

I find that rough versions like this are a good way to get out of my head. I can do these really fast and they will give me a decent impression of how the sequence will play. As rough as these boards are I find that a quick version like this can be pitched to a director to explain my thoughts and ideas.

The shots in this rough version are pretty close to the final boards, but especially at the ending there are a few changes, because at the time that I did these I was still trying to find the best way to shoot the ending.
